Here in Moss Vale on the beautiful Southern Highlands, Carca Restobar offers a unique dining experience that showcases the culinary skills of award-winning Chef Ian and his international brigade of chefs. Adding to this unique experience is Angelo. Leading his team on the floor he welcomes you as though you were visiting his personal home. Together they create an atmosphere where you sit back, wine, dine and experience the wonders of traditional Spanish cuisine.

 Having travelled and worked extensively throughout Australia, Europe and South East Asia Angelo and Chef Ian bring you Carca Restobar.

Angelo has visited a number of vineyards across Australia and a couple of boutique vineyards in Spain and what he has found he has brought back to Carca Restobar. Our wines have been matched with our food to ensure you a wine matching culinary experience second to none. We have created a simple yet diverse menu where there is something for everyone. From classic paella and suckling pig to chargrilled steaks and organic vegan options, we serve you some of the best food you will experience on the Southern Highlands. Our philosophy is simple – good food, good company and good wine equals a good time. And to ensure this, Chef Ian enjoys leaving the hectic pace of his kitchen to come out and actually meet with you and your friends. It’s the Carca way.

We’re a little bit different from other restaurants. Chef Ian and Angelo own and work in the restaurant, so we pride ourselves on ensuring you enjoy your time with us as though you were part of our extended family.

The word Carca is a Spanish term meaning “old fashioned or traditional”. It is also the letters of Angelo’s and Ian’s mothers – Carmen (CAR) and Veronica (CA).

A little while back we began a dream. To bring a little bit of Spain to the Southern Highlands.

And that dream has become a reality.


So welcome to our little bit of Spain where we showcase our Spanish inspired cuisine and wines sourced from some of our finest local, Australian and Spanish farmers and growers, fishmongers and providores in a traditional Spanish way. The Carca way.
